Immaculate, 1-owner 1998 Porsche Boxster 986 for sale. This example was leased new from Pioneer Porsche in San Diego in February of 1998 by our clients who loved the car so much that they purchased it at the end of the lease. It has averaged just over 3,000 miles per year since new and now has 94,290 miles. It is finished in its original Pastel Yellow with a black interior and top.

It includes books, a window sticker, both sets of keys, all service records since new, and a clean Carfax report available for download here. This 986 has been responsibly owned and gently driven living a pampered indoor life with regular detailing and servicing.

The original Pastel Yellow paint is immaculate with a nice glossy shine, excellent trim, rubber, glass, lenses, and emblems. The original factory 16" cast alloy wheels are in beautiful shape with no curb rash. They are wrapped in Michelin Piolt Sports, 205/55 ZR 16s upfront and 225/50 ZR 16s in the rear with 90% + tread remaining. The cloth top is in excellent condition and works flawlessly. Overall it presents beautifully.

The black cockpit is equally nice with minimal wear, excellent leather with classic Porsche perforated seating surfaces in great condition. Ice-cold air conditioning along with nice rugs, panels, steering wheel and shifter, dash, headliner, and gauges all contribute to making the car very comfortable and enjoyable. A nice-sounding modern stereo system with Bluetooth was recently added and the working factory original is included with the car.

Its 2.5L H6 F DOHC 24V motor starts easily and runs smoothly, providing plenty of power and acceleration. The braking and suspension are excellent and the car drives beautifully. Recent service in December included a new water pump with thermostat, belt, drive belt idle rollers, and tension roller idler pulley. The oil was changed and the brake fluids were flushed.

It also received the factory-recommended comprehensive 90k service 2000 miles ago. At that time the airbag light was on though they checked it and found no issues. Though non-critical and fine as-is, the rear spoiler raises automatically at speed though currently must be lowered manually using the switch. Otherwise, all systems are in excellent condition and working as intended. This is a fantastic, well-maintained car.
