1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL R107 for sale with only 55k original miles. Sold new at European Motors in San Francisco, delivered in Nautical Blue Poly with Parchment leather interior. The first owner sold it to their friend in 2008 who has owned it since. The car is in nice condition all around having been garaged since new. It includes the owner manual and a clean Carfax report, top wrenches and spare tire.
The 5.6L V8 starts and runs quietly and smoothly with plenty of power. It shifts through the gears effortlessly and the suspension, brakes, and steering are tight and responsive. We just had the oil service and inspection and all systems are in good working order. The air conditioning system has been charged and is blowing ice-cold.
The body is straight and tidy with mostly original paint. The previous owner stated that the first owner had the right lower side of the car resprayed before her purchasing it due to door chips from when the car lived in a shared, San Francisco garage. The trunk lid was also resprayed though we don't know why. Some touch-up has been used around the car as well including the area where if not careful the hard top base scrapes in front of the trunk when removed. Otherwise, the rest of the paint looks to be from the factory with a nice deep shine.
The original factory wheels are in excellent shape with no curb rash and the factory finish still looks great. They are wrapped in an older set of matching Michelin tires with 6mm+ tread remaining. The original cloth top has been stowed away most of the car's life and is nicely preserved. The glass, lenses, and trim are beautifully preserved making this a very attractive example. The undercarraige is equally impressive, complete and original with no rust anywhere.
The Palomino interior is immaculate. The leather is in beautiful condition and the dash has no cracks. The headliner on the hardtop is also super clean and the wood has a nice shine to it. All of the gauges are in good working order including the clock and the air conditioning blows ice cold. The windows go up and down easily and overall everything seems to be in good working order.
You will notice in the photos that the small decorative disc that should be glued to the center of the far left gauge has come loose. This is a common issue and we will have that properly reattached before delivery. Otherwise, the interior is quite nice, better than most I've seen, it is very tidy and comfortable for even the longest drives. The trunk is immacualte as well.
