Very nice 1983 Mercedes Benz 380SEL W126 Long Wheel Base Sedan. This one-owner, doctor-owned SEL starts, runs and drives well with no issues. Clean, California car with books included and dealer services stamped in the book since new and later in it's life services by a reputable San Diego Mercedes-Benz specialist.
Rust free, original paint and leather interior in presentable condition. The W126 cars are known as some of the most bullet proof cars made by Mercedes-Benz with many still on the road with over a million miles. This one appears to be well maintained and as a one owner car with maintenance's performed as recommended should have a great, long life still ahead of it.
The ice cold air has been converted to R-134a. All working gauges, accessories and a modern, upgraded stereo system. Driven an average of under 4,500 miles per year since new.
I'm a big a fan of the W126 Mercedes platform and am always looking out for these nice, well maintained examples. The 380SEL with it's practical 3.8L V8 is a nice balance of practicality and luxury. (The 500SEL and later on 420SEL and 560SEL were typically equipped with the hydro-pneumatic suspension which could be very expensive to maintain).
This is a great way to drive and enjoy a very affordable, beautifully built, classic post-modern luxury car that looks as elegant as it feels.
