This well-cared-for West Coast Lotus White 1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible for sale originated from Washington State before arriving in California in 2013. 1967 was a low production year with only 4,100 built.
We sold it to its current Southern California owner in 2014 who has driven it just 2,200 miles since. It has been properly stored indoors, kept detailed and maintained, and is just as nice today as it was the last time I saw it.
The exterior is in beautiful condition and is rust-free throughout. The body is straight with excellent alignments and the 2013 repaint is smooth and glossy. It has a newer, high-quality cloth top in great condition and fitment along with a clear rear window.
The chrome, trim, and lenses show well along with the original steel rims, proper trim rings, and hubcaps wrapped in an older yet excellent set of proper 165 R15s. The undercarriage is equally tidy and original with excellent pans, inner rockers, bulkhead, and wheel wells.
The cockpit is a combination of original and replacements. Adding to the charm are the original dashboard and square weave carpeting. The seats have been properly reupholstered and door cards and panels replaced.
The car includes a set of sheepskin seat covers that were installed when the current owner purchased which has helped preserve the seating. The newer top fits beautifully and included a new headliner at the time of installation along with a matching chocolate cloth boot cover with tan piping.
The 1600cc engine was rebuilt approximately 12k miles ago with dual carburetors. It starts immediately, idles smoothly, and has excellent power. The shifting is excellent up and down throughout the gears and the suspension and braking are nice and responsive making this Ghia turn-key and ready to enjoy.
