Cool little 1965 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible for sale. Nicely finished and in very good overall condition. Starts; runs and drives well with strong engine, smooth shifting, tight suspension and braking. Solid pans and no rust anywhere. Nose is nice and straight and the overall panel fitment is decent as well.
There is no sign of previous damage that I can see (though after 48 years I wouldn't be surprised to find something). Looks to be an older repaint with a few flaws yet looks quite nice. Interior in excellent shape as well as the canvas top and headliner. All systems are fully operational except for the radio.
I took extensive photos of the underside, nose and wheel well areas, rear inner quarters, bulkhead and all of the key areas of concern on these cars. All checks out well and the car shows to be in quite superb condition for it's age - especially given the fact that it has never had a complete, rotisserie type of restoration. The bulkhead and data tag numbers match as does the title.
Pre 1969 Karmann Ghia convertibles are really quite rare and are surprisingly hard to find in good condition. The ornamental bumpers and early turn signals and tail lights are popular among collectors. These early Ghia convertibles have been increasing in value steadily for years. And getting a nice, solid example like this one is a great investment (and it's also a joy to own!).
