1965 Jaguar 4.2 eType Series 1 OTS Roadster for sale in Sonoma California. This Jaguar Heritage certified, numbers matching car is special being that it is the last of the Series 1 cars to feature closed headlamps, triple SU carburetors, increased interior comfort, and of course the 4.2 Litre engine.
There were 5,888 LHD OTS's produced, 1E10001-1E15888, this car was the 933rd and was built on April 13th of 1965. The same 3rd owner for the last 26 years has kept it indoors here in the wine country using it regularly yet sparingly.
Car starts, runs and drives nicely, burns clean and shifts up and down through the gears smoothly. Old repaint in old English white, the car was originally Opalescent Golden Sand from the factory with black interior.
It appears that the 1st owner may have had the seats swapped at the dealer when new as they appear to be original red leather while the certificate indicates they should be black. Below we have photo-documented the numbers and included a copy of the Heritage Certificate. The car could be used in it's current state as a driver yet is certainly worthy of a restoration. The working odometer shows 49,800 miles though we cannot be certain as to whether they are actual.
Thank you for visiting!
