Nifty old 1965 Checker Marathon Taxi Cab for sale at Left Coast Classics. This original old taxi cab was purchased from the cab company years ago. While mostly original it has since been repainted and had most of the chrome refinished. It still has it's original meter and jump seats.
The paint was done just a few years ago and looks good and shiny. Much of the chrome was refinished as well. A few extra cosmetic parts (new) are included with the car such as a new hood pad, chrome fender trim, bumper skirt, seatbelts, and rubber. (Photo included).
The interior is a mixture of new and old. The seats look to have been reupholstered, door panels and carpet are newer. The headliner, steering wheel, and dash are original.
The car starts; runs and drives strong and reliable with it's 350 V8 engine and automatic transmission. The original gauges have been replaced. The shifting is spot-on and the suspension and braking all feel good and responsive.
It's fun to imagine who this San Francisco taxicab may have carried around the City of Love during the 1960's! How many hippies were whisked from the airport to Haight Ashbury we'll never know! But it's nice to see that at least one of these has been saved and preserved! Available for inspection, can assist with shipping to anywhere in the world.
