Cool 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 900 Coupe for sale. Finished in Palomar Red with a black vinyl interior. This California car was purchased new by a woman in Santa Barbara then sold in the early 90s to a couple in Santa Ynez then sold to its most current owner last year in 2021 who is no longer able to enjoy it.
This is a tidy, rust-free driver-quality classic Corvair that includes both California-issued black and gold license plates, manual, various papers, and registrations dating back to 1969. It currently shows 29,828 miles though safe to say it has turned over.
The 2,296 cc (2.3 L) air-cooled flat 6 engine starts and runs well with no smoke and plenty of power. It appears to have been gone through though I don't know to what extent.
It looks to have an aftermarket exhaust system/ The automatic transmission shifts through the gears properly and the suspension feels good with new shocks all-around. Braking is good and it gets down the road and drives nicely.
Inside the car looks nice and is very comfortable with good upholstery, door cards, carpet, panels, and a nice headliner. Currently, wipers and heater fan are not turning on. Otherwise, it is very comfortable and tidy throughout.
The outside presents well. It had a recent respray of its Palomar Red. I noticed that the color coat on the lower area of the sides below the beltline is a bit thin in some areas. The trim and glass appear to be mostly original and overall it is a nice looking example.
