1962 MGA 1600 MkII for sale, one of 2365 built. This California car's restoration began in around 2008. It came to me in 2013 while only partially assembled. A friend and enthusiast purchased it from me and did a great job completing it. He owned it over the last 9 years and has used it lightly, kept it garaged and in tip-top shape.
The correct 1600cc engine (#16GC-U-L4722) has been rebuilt and runs smoothly with plenty of power The transmission was also rebuilt and all of the ancillary items were replaced at that time including but not limited to the fuel system, brakes, cooling system, and more. It is fully functional and a superb driving Mark II.
The exterior has a beautiful appearance. The car was disassembled and professionally stripped and painted and is razor straight with no signs of filler and excellent alignments all around. The doors, bonnet, and boot shut perfectly. The chrome, trim, glass, and rubber are excellent all around. It has a newer set of chrome wire wheels wrapped in a set of Firestone 165/R15s with 95% tread remaining.
It includes an older yet good Everflex convertible top and a new set of nicely fitting side curtains and bag. It has a nice canvas tonneau cover that fits perfectly and is easy to install and remove. Overall it has a beautiful appearance. The undercarriage is nice and tidy as well with a solid frame and infrastructure. It has new springs and a beautiful, high-quality stainless steel exhaust system.
The cockpit is tidy and comfortable. The seating, carpets, panels, and rugs are in great shape. A new wiring harness was installed insuring that the gauges, horn, wipers, heater, and all other interior components function properly. The boot is finished and includes the spare and jack. It is very presentable and great to ride in.
