Classic Luxury! 1956 Continental Mark II for Sale

Beautiful 1956 Continental Mark II for sale. This was the first year of the second generation Continental it was sold by the Ford Continental Division for the 1956 and 1957 model years. Previous and later model years held the Lincoln Continental designation.

With a price tag of $10,000 when new, the Mark II (equivalent to over $107,000 today) cost the same as five Ford Customlines!

With a large number of power-equipment features included, the Mark II was offered with a single option: $595 for air conditioning. This car is equipped with factory air-conditioning.

The 368 cu in 6.0L Y-block V8 starts; runs and drives well, boasting 300HP from the factory. When current owner purchased the car in 2010, over $6,000 of mechanical work was done to ensure it's drivability including carburetor rebuild, pushrods, exhaust valves and seats; heads rebuilt, hoses, belts, heater motor and more.

Brakes, suspension and handling all in good, working order. Currently, the AC, power seat and radio are not working. Otherwise, all of the power windows are operational as well as horn, lights and gauges.

The car was re-painted many years ago in Pastoral Blue by a previous owner, a consumer-level respray with a nice shine and even with a few scuffs here and there, presentable as-is. The floors and inner-rockers are solid.

While the interior appears to be mostly original, the code "05" followed by "1C2D" would indicate that the car was originally green. I commented on in the video that other than the brand new carpet, it appeared to be original. But now after decoding, it appears the car had a complete color change some time ago earlier in its life.

Brand new blue carpet was just installed throughout the cockpit. It's very comfortable with a nice patina and wonderful to ride in. The spare, tire cover and jack are all present.

This Continental II is a nice, solid, driver-quality classic that should bring plenty of enjoyment.
