Beautiful 1939 Ford Woody Wagon for sale that was fully restored to show car specifications 40 years ago. This special Woody has enjoyed 35 years under its caring owner. It is beautifully finished in classic Washington Blue with a correct brown interior and includes car show ribbons, older photos, an original owner's manual, and records. It has been a fixture at Sonoma Valley wine country events.
The Ford Flat 8 starts easily, idles smoothly, and runs strong. The 3-speed transmission with its Columbia overdrive systems shifts through the gears smoothly. The brakes and suspension function as intended making it easy and relaxing to drive.
The exterior shows well and has aged nicely with a lovely, slight patina, a testament to its quality restoration. The Washington Blue paint is smooth and glassy, the chrome, trim, and lenses show well and the woody has a nice finish.
The red steel wheels have trim rings and caps and are wrapped in an older set of bias-ply Firestone whitewalls with plenty of tread though should be replaced for highway driving due to age. The Everflex vinyl roof is in excellent shape along with the running boards. It has period-correct California license plates that can be kept with the car should the buyer live in California.
The original style interior shows well and is comfortable. It has a rebuilt heater system, working horn, lights, and gauges (though the speedometer looks to be a tad off). The wipers are inoperable yet we suspect this car will never be out in the weather. The radio was rebuilt a few years back, it turns on and emits static, we are told that it needs new vacuum tubes.
This is a great-looking, very presentable classic Ford Woody ready to enjoy! Be sure to check out all 260+ photos and the video below.
