Very nice 1937 Ford Model 78 Deluxe Convertible Sedan for sale. This California Ford was restored many years ago and has been beautifully preserved and cared for since. It's current owner purchased locally over a decade ago and has made some nice improvements making it excellent for long, comfortable trips while keeping the appearance of originality.
This classic Ford starts; runs and drives beautifully with more than enough power to get on the freeway and keep up with modern traffic. With tight suspension and good handling, it's shoulders down when cruising. A crate 350 engine and 350TH automatic transmission were installed a few years ago along with a Ford rear-end that's perfectly geared for relaxed freeway driving.
It has disc brakes up front, drums in the rear and rides on steel wheels wrapped in newer, classic white wall tires. Truly a reliable '37 that successfully completed a trip to Vancouver and back for a Ford V8 club meet up. You can take this one anywhere.
The exterior looks nice with lacquer paint on a razor straight, rust-free, all steel body. A brand new top at a cost of nearly $6,000 was recently installed and the fit and seal are excellent. The interior is attractive and comfortable giving this classic Ford such a period look. This is a great looking car.
Of the 309,807 total Model 78 Deluxe cars produced, a mere 4,378 were convertible sedans making this one rare and collectible classic Ford. The Model 78 Convertible Sedan was the highest priced car Ford sold in 1937.
