Cool 1927 Ford Model T Chop-top Coupe for sale in Sonoma California. Current owner for several years now, began being built by previous owner in the late 80's/early 90's and finished by most current owner about three years ago.
Starts and runs like a champ and a ton of fun to drive! Chevrolet small block, rebuilt a few years ago less than 500 miles ago with mild cam, aluminum exhaust manifolds, Edelbrock intake and carburetor and electronic ignition. It runs nicely with a ton of power and sounds great. Shifting is by a recently rebuilt Turbo 400 automatic via a Hurst Pro-Matic 2 shifter mounted between the bucket seats.
Handling is "shoulders-down" and comfortable with a set of front disc brakes, GM tilt steering unit, Chevrolet rear end (gear ratio unknown but has relatively long legs for highway cruising). The car rides on vintage style Cragar Super Sport wheels; 14 inch up front and 15 at the rear with excellent, barely used tires.
Frame looks to be reinforced and feels nice and sturdy. Overall handling and comfort is impressive making for a really nice highway cruiser.
Nice looking candy apple red paint, all steel body and running boards with glass fenders. It was painted years ago so expect some imperfections. It appears that there was something like a carburetor fire when it had a different engine as seen on the passenger side hood vent area. New owner could simply remove the hood or respray. The roof chop was very nicely done and has a solid metal top highlighting its cool rake and stance.
The interior is tidy with a beautiful burl-wood dash housing vintage style set of Stewart Warner gauges. Includes a period correct cassette player installed in a standard single DIN space making an upgrade easy if so desired. Bucket seats recline/adjust and are very comfortable. Nice headliner and some cool, wood window surrounds around the three rear windows. Interior door-window surrounds needed. The trunk is nicely finished, fully carpeted with battery in the rear for easy access.
Clear, California title in-hand. Titled as a 1927 Ford.
