Who We Are:

Welcome. I'm Donn Dabney, owner of Left Coast Classics, a licensed automobile dealer in California. I began dealing specifically in classic cars in 2002. I've had an interesting career in media as a songwriter, audio engineer, web developer, information technology manager, internet marketing consultant and even dabbled in foley for TV and movies. In the late 90's I was working in a traditional new car dealer helping build and brand what is now a very successful "One-Price" automotive dealer in the San Francisco Bay area, doing away with the hassle of haggling. All of that great experience coupled with a love of classic cars since childhood and Left Coast Classics was born! I was raised in Newport Beach, California and spent years in Hollywood, Burbank, and Beverly Hills. These areas are Mecca's full of beautiful, European and American classic cars! I grew up around many exotic and collectible cars. As a kid my family had several vintage vehicles.

What We Do:

When I opened for business I didn't have the credit lines or cash flow to purchase cars so I began to consign with the intention of eventually buying our cars. Later when cash flow and credit were no longer an issue, I did begin to buy more cars yet have still remained a strong presence in the consignment business. I found that the folks that consign with us have been a priceless source of referrals and most really enjoy being involved in the process. This way they know that they are realizing the right return for the car they are selling. It must be working! Left Coast Classics consignment segment is about 98% referral driven after just a short six years in business. Clients bring multiple cars to us and trust us to handle the sale of their prized classic car with honesty and integrity. After the sale we always provide a CD of the several hundred photos we have taken and even send the seller a beautiful poster of their car.

How We Do It:

I shoot hundreds of pictures of your car so that online buyers will know exactly what they are getting. I also produce several videos that take potential buyers on a virtual test drive, a walk-around and a tour of the interior. They also can watch the motor start and run and even see the exhaust coming out the tail pipe! If you have documentation that is important to the car I can scan those documents and make them available online as well. This entire process ensures the sale of your car at the correct value, eliminates all of the hassle of phone calls, tire kickers and no-shows. You will receive all of the media files of the car once it is sold. I offer buyers the expertise to complete the deal easily, transfer funds, and arrange transportation along with everything else that needs to be done to ensure a seamless, enjoyable transaction.

Where We Do It:

In some cases we will need to show your car. Otherwise everything is done online! We have an excellent positive feedback rating on all our online classic car auctions so you can be secure in the knowledge that you will be treated with respect and that your classic car buying and selling experience will be as simple as we can make it. You keep the car until it's sold or park it in our warehouse. You decide. The photo session can be done in your area or in Sonoma. Recently, many of the buyers of our cars have begun to call from out of state inviting me to come and help thin out their collections.
